Left Bluepoints at 7:30 with little expectations of any great day fishing in the existing less than ideal summertime fishing doldrums. There was no shortage of False Albacore. We saw pods of albacore all day - from the #4 buoy - to 8a - to where the 20 mile weather buoy used to be ! Another species that were fairly abundant throughout the day - was porpoises. We passed one scattered herd of Flippers as large as a football field ! Early on the way to 8a - we put a small red and white tuna feather on troll by a pod of albacore - it took only a minute to hook one - which we kept for bait. There were only a couple of boats out at 8a - trolled around there for about two hours without a bite. We then moved out to the area of the old weather buoy. The only thing we saw out there was a few scattered big turtles , more false albacore and the Acme Charter boat. We had nice flat calm seas all day - but no fish for the fishbox !
