Successful scallop day out of CR 8/17

First of all I would like to thank windysurfer and troutman for helping me over these past few weeks. It's been YEARS since I've been scalloping and yesterday didn't disappoint. We put in at Yankeetown and traveled south to CR for scallops. Water was clear and the tide was high. My wife, mother, and sister had never scalloped before. Once I figured out what I was doing we had our limit in a couple of hours. Had to move around a few times but no biggie. Had a BLAST! I can't wait to get out there a few more times this year. Hopefully we can catch a few trout out of Cedar Key today for a nice meal.

Looks like you figured it out just fine.

I was out yesterday and that floating grass, with the strong tide, was a complete mess for fishing. I almost went in for some scallops.

Glad you found them!, Sounds like your trip was good and the ramp at Yankeetown served you well. I hear tell a lot of folks went up from here after scallops and did not do so well, they should sign up, log on and join the good folks on FS!

Yep. Helps to have good connections here on the board. Couldn't have done it without you guys. Fed four hungry people this afternoon and man, they were amazing. I forgot how good they were!
