Summer time fishing can be the most rewarding and most frustrating time to fish south Florida waters. With temperatures soaring well over the hundreds and afternoon thunderstorms just about every day it has been a challenge. Being able to predict the weather and fighting the heat has paid off in my quest for the next thrill seeking adventure. Summer has taken me just about everywhere in the state and have met some good people along the way. Everglades National park Flamingo has been my home base for the majority of the Summer thus far and has paid off with great numbers and catches. Just a few miles up the coast Chokoloskee continues to poise as a challenge and has not given up much fish. My journeys have taken me as far north as Orlando in search of Bull reds that lurk the brackish waters of Mosquito lagoon. Last but not least the Magical and hateful Biscayne bay. What can I say about this place... It could be the best place to fish or by far the worst most frustrating body of water a man could set eye on but when she reveals secrets you are mystified with the memory it leaves you with.
