    Late night..

As much as I love it here, I really don't care much for the sun. I spend alot of time hopping around jetty rocks and drifting big flies behind 375gr of tungsten this time of year. I usually don't bring a camera out with me (I'm a clutz), but I did last night. Here are a couple really bad pics of some jetty fish.

Been getting lots of these lately for some odd reason.

Nice fish! What Rod weight do you use to throw your line? (is it full sinking?) leader lenght?

    Thanks,

    Felipe.

I use any of three rods down there depending on the tide/wind/size of the flies I'm throwing (usually a 10wt). I use a type V density compensated head behind a braided mono running line. And I use a straight 3' section of 40lb flouro for a leader.

Bad pic, but I took a picture of the fly cuz I buried it barb deep into the back of my head last night.

Last night the only hit of the night came on the old wee-ducer.

Nice Snook, I have to set up a rig for jetty fly fishing.

That hook makes me cringe, I don't want to remove any hooks from my hide any time soon. Do you wear some kind of eye protection when fly fishing at night? I do.

No eye protection. The line I use doesn't require any false casting, I pick up/load/cast with a single motion. A stiff breeze from the right will occasionally earn me a fly in the back, but I don't worry about it too much. If you spend enough time at the jetty, you're going to leave your share of blood on the rocks. All jetty rats have a love/hate relationship with cocquina (and gravity).
