Wading Trip 7/17/12

Made plans to go wade the west side of the river with a buddy and we were on location by 7:15 this morning. Didn't take long to start catching fish, started out with some 15 to 17 inch trout. After having a fish rip the tail off my CAL, my buddy spots some mullet being chased in the shallows. He casts right in front of them and hooked up right away! Rod doubled over and drag screaming off the reel. We chase it through a dock, get it out into some open water and get a glimpse of it. Giant snook! It makes one last run and breaks his braid! Not sure what that's all about. The fish was well over 35 inches though. He gets rigged up and we keep working down. I rattle off a pair of over slot trout before we call it a day. Finished with around 25 trout. Normally I stick to the Greene CAL, but today we used a variety of CAL's and they all worked well!

Thanks guys, don't see the light much anymore. And snook87, yes the drag was screaming, he was hooked up to a big snook.

Still a great day, really weren't expecting to run into a giant snook. But thank you!
