Today she'll and I celebrated 19 years of happiness and decided to go fishing with capt Chris Herrera.
Goal was for shell to nab her first poon and a few reds for dinner
We went out of bings next to chris's BBQ shop and wanted to get the reds done real quick and that we did, 30 mins from the ramp we had 2 nice reds in the well.
Now to run matanzas inlet...WOW, don't do that unless you know EXACTLY what you are doing!! Kind of hair raising
We pull up behind the shrimp boat, the only one out there and inform shell that she needed to hook her poon on the first bait before the sharks show up. Her mullet lasted about 30 seconds before the drag was screaming!!!! Then the 6' monster torpedoed out of the water to confirm our hopes. Game on!!! 2 nice runs and several huge jumps ended the battle but smiles were pasted on our faces. Awesome. That was all I wanted for my anniversary was to see her hooked up.
Then every single bait that hit the water was eaten by a bonito in a matter of 10 seconds. It was nuts!!
Topped the day off with some amazing BBQ from captains bait and BBQ and called it a day.
Couldn't have asked for a better day other than a little more bait on the beach lol
