7/7 Offshore Report (back to the small stuff)

With DC III in the shop I still had to get out on the water so with manageable conditions on Sat morning I hooked up the 11' John boat and headed out offshore for some trolling. Put the spread out around 7am and picked up a king right off the bat. Sorted through a few bonita and finally found a nice football blackfin. Sorted through a few more bonita and then had a really got hit. Fish ran off some decent line and made a jump in the distance but only saw the splash. Was hoping for a nice dolphin but turned put to be a big cuda. All action was on a nice blue/green edge around 4-5 miles out (good N current as well). Winds started to pick up around 9am adding to the already sloppy 2-3 so packed in the offshore spread and headed to the flats for some trout action. Just found a few small ones along with a jack and blue runners. Hit the sandbar that afternoon for some relaxation.

Excellent report. Junior probably already remembers to bring his sunglasses to the sandbar to prevent others from knowing where the eyes are headed.

Hey Man, I just love it when you go out in the small boats. Remember like yesterday the swordfish coming in Hillsborough. I have fished small boats of various sorts all my life and love it. I've got a pic of my oldest son waking up at sunrise offshore in my 13' foot flat'sboat that is priceless. Good for you. We all love your posts. That's a good lookin' boy you have there. Congrats!!!!!
