Fished offshore Sunday with my wife and a friend of hers from work who had never really been fishing offshore. We headed out of Haulover with flat calm seas. Plan was to look for some dolphin and blackfins. We starting out live baiting, but with a lack of wind and current it got hot for them really fast. We switched gears and went on the troll. Starting working our way out and picked up a nice solo cow in 500' on the deep bait (no birds or weeds in sight). This was her first offshore fish and a nice dolphin at that. With this fish in the box there was no point in heading 20 miles out as the plan was to get some fish for the afternoon on the sandbar. Continued working our way around with no other action untill about the 350 range when 3 rods go off. All 3 ended up being BFT's so we put them on ice and headed into the sandbar early.
