    Tarpon

Seen some tarpon rolling in a private canal today while I was workin. Got permission to come back and give it a go. after supper me and the boys loaded up and headed down. I had almost forgotten how finicky and hard to hook when you do get a strike. Small canal with mostly small fish. Seen a few to 25lbs. My oldest was the first to hook up with one of the big ones, 20 +. Short fight and a few jumps and it was over. His first hooked tarpon, he is the one hooked now. Then i got lucky and put one on the bank. Next my youngest(Dr. reel good) caught a pup to get in on the action. We all had several hits. it was a blast!!Click image for larger version.

And yes...technicly you must have a $50 tag to "reduce to possesion"...

but...they are holding the fish properly supported...

and I don't think the kid in the second photo has fifty bucks...He's so hungrey he's eating his fishing rod!

remember hearing that but wasn't even thinkin bout it. the fish were only out of the water long enough for the picture. They were quickly revived and released unharmed. Yes, my kid is ALWAYS hungry.
