Took way to long catch bait but manage about 18 sardines at bullshark. Headed offshore and a little south. Stopped on a line in 80ft and got nothing except a few missed bonita. Picked up and stopped again on a nice line in 125ft. About 20 minutes passed with no activity until a sail slams my sardine 20ft behind the boat. He put on a show and ended up with a clean release. Set up again and bonita got thick and the storms started inland so I headed in. Large mats of grass all over. Most flyers I saw was in about 25ft running up the beach on my way south. Very little current with calm and getting calmer seas. Very few boats around.
Mats were everywhere from 60-120 and moving inshore very slowly. First blueish water was in about sixty feet. Looked ok but a little shallower than what I wanted. I will be out tommorrow and will probably start at the first break I see around 120ft unless I see some bait along the way
Cool, I'm waiting on my cousin to come into town but we'll be out there around 10am hopefully. Will you be on the VHF? I'll be on 73 and will give you a shout if you're on. After today's showers, the blue water may be further out.
