Fished with the boys, Ryan and Connor, in the tournament today and had great time. We just moved up here from North Palm Beach and are still learning the area, but lovin it.We left the house deep in the orginal South Fork of the St. Lucie River (Lost River) this morning around 6:10AM. Got to Sandsprit and met Chip for some live Pilchards by 7:00 and then ran up to Stuart Causeway, 10 Cent, Benihana, or however you refer to the first Bridge on the river. There were several boats there but no one was pulling up anything so we started fishing the docks on the East side working our way South. On the first dock, Ryan caught a 22 inch Snook and we were feelin good. A couple of docks later, Ryan brings in a 27 inch Redfish . Biggest Red he's ever caught! After another 10-20 minutes Connor hooks up on a nice Snook just over 27 inches. We continue working the docks pitching baits and moving quickly, probably scaring more fish than anything due to the wind and currents. Tried a few other spots and made a run up to Roosevelt but the wind was just brutal
so we turned around and came back. Went back to a couple of the productive docks again and Ryan pulled in another 25 inch Red. We tried Hole in the wall, cuz we saw it on a fishing show once.
Then I wanted to try a canal I had been looking at from Google maps. We get back there and Ryan brings in a small Goliath Grouper! First time for that!
So we totaled 2 snook, 2 reds and a Goliath. We didn't win any prizes but had a great time!
