Im planning on doing some drifting this Wed. and I'd just like to know if anyone has been out lately and could tell me where the bait has been more consistent at??? I was out a week 1/2 ago and was trying for bait at the towers right out of Gov. Cut but only could get Small runners, pinfish, and the evil leatherjack. NO threads or pilchards. Id really appreciate the info. Thanks.
I went with Bouncer last Thursday and we loaded up at Bug Light. Threw the net twice and had a mix of pilchards and threadfins with a couple of pinfish and cigar minnows. Also had a chum bag out and threw a couple times on the ballyhoo.
We were 4 for 4 on sails, 2 tuna, two kingfish, half dozen dolphin and a nice mutton on a ballyhoo plug
If you're going out of gov cut it's just a quick trip down to bug light. As Jack said, the bait is usually thick there.
is bugs light the tower outside of govnt. cut? or the tower by the light house?
by the light house at key biscayne
and here i always thought bugs light was the one outside of gov. cut. no wonder i can never find good bait there lol..
