Took advantage of east wind and flat seas to wonder out to the 95 ft mark to bag a few red grouper for the dinner table. While working a broken limestone area a dark "shark-like" outline appeared just under the boat. We held a sardine just under the surface on a grouper rig and discovered the shark was a 52 " Cobia.
Great fight right alongside the boat. The fish spent a lot of time jumping and going crazy on the surface for most of the fight.
We managed to bag this guy, along with a bunch of typical red grouper (nothing huge, but decent keepers) and some really nice Lane Snapper. Great day on the water.
