    Missouri Hunt

Well, my good string of bad luck continues, as I went birdless for 2012, but I won't complain too much after getting 6 days of great hunting weather, while chasing turkeys in my favorite part of the country.

Pictured below are a few of the birds taken, as well as a 174" gross buck shot in Iowa last fall, by a friend.

    Enjoy...

LMAO !!!!! John you are having the same bad luck as me when I took my boy to get him on one . Every time he went out all we saw were hens , I took my nephew once and we had gobblers all around us and he killed one .I passed up on several jakes which would off been perfect shots for him but he didn't go that morning . Next season will be better for both . Great birds and pics

Sometimes things just don't break your way and other times it seems you can do no wrong! Nice pictures! I really like the one with the spurs. I'll have to remember that one for next spring.
    Good luck next year!

Thanks! Yeah, that bird was a beast! It weighed 23.5 lbs had 1.67" and 1.75" spurs. Needless to say, It took top honors and a beautiful handmade cable steel knife went to the shooter.

Where do you stay when you go up there,I met some boys from Fl who stay at the motel as us in Unionville. I was just talking to a buddy of mine last night about going up for a turkey hunt next year.

Very small indeed! I stay at a camp east of Unionville owned by a friend from Iowa. We hunt three different farms around there. Love that place!
