PC offshore 4/27 and 4/28
Loaded the well full of pogies just north of the inlet, then headed to the buoy...got to the 20 mile buoy and counted 17 other boats there so that was a bust...trolled around there for a few hours and only picked up 1 small dolphin. Came in to 8a and saw some kings busting, slow trolled for an hour and went 2 for 4 on the kings.
Fished in the tourament with all the million other boats out there. Cleared the inlet at 7, ran to a wreck to get bait, bait was tough, but got 4 dozen sardines by 9 oclock. Went to 8a, fished there until 12 and caught ten kings up to 33lbs, let 5 go because they were small and mept the other 5. Decided to see if we could catch some dolphin, ran to 130 where there was a weedline. Trolled it for 5 minutes until a school of peanuts swam up to the boat caught 20 in a half hour but only kept 6...didnt win the money, but in all was a good day.
Will upload pics later
I would say you have a feast of Good fish there!!! That grill will be busy for weeks to come! Good stuff man.
Glad to hear you had decent luck on Saturday. You did better than many! We left the docks at 5:00 A.M. and headed out east of the weather buoy. Saw lots of scattered/broken weed, lots of flying fish, and a few well formed lines with nothing on them. Ended up catching a few schoolies and a shark at the end of the day on a nice weed line in 160 ft. Saw a huge hammerhead and a big free-jumping sail right in front of our boat, but couldn't get either to eat. Tough day of fishing, but it was still a great day on the water!
