TJ was kind enough to take the day off to go fishing with my fiance and I. We picked up some live bait from Inspiration in Boca Lake. Cleared the inlet around 7am. Then quickly put the spread out, 7 lines, something I normally don't do. Usually I fish 5, but TJ had it under control with 7, and we never tangled once. Not long after we hooked in to a nice bull.
With a nice fish in the box we were back on the troll. Picked up one more small schooly. Then we found some birds and threw some live baits in. Hooked in to a nice skipjack and we brought him in on a small spinner 20lb test.
Stayed on the troll for a bit but it seemed the bite shut down around 10:30. TJ suggested we go look for some sails. We started to drift off Highland Beach, got the live baits out and within minutes I lost my first really big sail. Then got the lesson from TJ about floracarbon. 10 minutes later, double header on sails.
Back to the dock by 1pm. One of my best days out front with a nice bull in the box, 2 for 3 on sails, more importantly a good time with a good friend. TJ, YOU THE MAN!
