Left Port Everglades at 6:45 am and was met with flat seas and variable winds. First weed line at 400’ running northeast to southwest for 1 mile. Picked up a peanut about 15 minutes into the troll. Moved out to 800' and found another one mile long weed line, wind picked up to 15 out of nw and bite was on, on the shore side of the weed line. Boated six fish, three keepers. Two were 24" and one gaffer. A few boats showed up so moved to 900' saw a squadron of frigates got two decent skippies. Wind went slack again. Moved back to 800' got two more 24 inchers and that was it. Bumped trolled live baits for kings but nada near the sea buoy. Home by two.
Been fishing hard for phins for the past three weeks and finally got what we had been looking for.
