My son is here visiting form the keys and mother nature offered up a perfect day t show off some of Homosassa's famous grouper fishing. Kyle and I hit the water at 8:30 after saying hello to Salty dawg we ran out 30 miles to 45' of water. On the way out we noticed the suspended layer of algae from 15' all the way out to where we started in 45'. We used the Minn Kota as an anchor and dropped cut bait on carolina rigs and the grouper did not dissapoint! This time the larger reds were there up to 28" Not as many gags but still quite a few from 24-30 inches. Tried to set a flat line for kings as they were all around us but the algae fouled up the bait a minute after it iwas set. We limited on the red grouper and released the gags. Called it a day at 2 and ran in. On the way we ran into ruff one set up on his cobia spot so we stopped by and said hello0. On a good note the water in 12' was clearing up enough to start drifting for trout and seeing the shallow rock piles fairly well.
