What a tragedy. Today is a sad day for the fishing world.
Man that really really sucks. Not only was his show the best out there he always seemed like such a good guy. Too sad.

Sad. Always seemed to be having fun filming his shows.
God Speed to the one and only "Spanish Fly" and his family. He will be greatly missed by myself and a host of others.
The network that his show's were on should have a tribute to him for all of his fans who, like myself, have enjoyed his shows and his instruction through out the years. Rest in peace Jose!!
I have alot of respect for him. I have a daughter with Cystic Fibrosis and have always wanted to meet him and maybe fish with him one day. He has done great things toward to cure of this awful disease. He will always be remembered.RIP Jose. May you always be fishng the big ocean.
Nothing new to add but as others have said, he seemed to really enjoy what he was doing and I really enjoyed watching his shows. His excitement and love of the sport was evident to all. May God be with him and his family.
Safe travel on your next your journey you will be missed!
Wow. I looked up to that guy. May he rest in peace
Christ, as we know, called the fishermen to follow him. Today I am sure Jose has taken his place with the apostles.
Jose too has come and then left us
Today it seems like a dream
That he was so much part of our lives
That he lived and loved as we do
Now he has left our hearts and left us many
wonderful memories of all the fished release
on the Spanish Fly to go on its way and that is what Jose
is doing today To a bright new world, see the sun glitter
As he drifts from sight, though our tears are bitter
We know that he, like the Sails memorable leaps
Will always be there in our memories deep
You will be missed by many my Brother RIP !
