Offshore SW of Sanibel light house1/02/2013 to 70 ft
Well the crew was excited about their first trip offshore, they just arrived from the north. Ran about 28 miles to our first stop 65 ft..As soon as the bait hit the bottom it was fish on,most were 18 to 19 1/2 one 22 inch keeper. Bait was frozen sardines, squid ,cut bait..I must have vented 60 plus fish.final Tally 3 keeper Reds, couple legal size gags released, all while drifting. The guys had a blast..Seas were great out and back.
One happy guy,now they need a couple of days rest and trout fishing..

Yep. I think the bulk of the keeper reds have moved a lot deeper. Good time of year to start working on the boat. Any snapper? We got a few keeper lanes, threw a bunch back.

The guys were getting constant hits that were not hook ups..My guess is there hooks were to big for snapper , porgy, lanes or grunts..One pory made it to the box.
