Fished out of Matanzas Inlet this past weekend... Water temp was 74 degrees... Ended up boating 3 Cobes. All caught off rays.
Better calibrate that temperature unit! It never got over 71.6 out there over the weekend. Most rays are not holding fish yet either.Originally Posted by hblegend13
They are being caught off of GA already but closer to the stream than the beach. Havent spotted any on the nearshore stuff yet. Fished Monday off of Cumberland and water was 70-71 so water is about right but still little early i guess
My calibrations were right on.... Saturday I seen 6 rays with a total of 12 Cobes on them... Sunday I seen 3 rays and caught 3 Cobes off of them... Monday I seen 2 rays and seen 2 fish on them and caught 1. And from what I hear a lot of boats pulled zero's... It seems you caught no fish since you say the rays aren't holding fish yet. Maybe you should check your calibrations and buy a pair of good polarized sunglasses while your at it. They work very well!
Great job! Ya the water has definitly warmed up. I fished out there last week and the water was already 72.5 so I beleive you hit 74 water. Whats up Jimmy!

How far off shore from Matanzas?
Sunrise surf report is saying 74 degrees and surfjaxpier report is reading 68. Its time.
Did a shark get that cobia in the first picture?
