Winter Park Chain Lakes 3/18

Went out on the gheenoe yesterday afternoon to try and catch some bass on their beds. We started off throwing flukes and lizards around lilly pads and had a few hits but nothing overly exciting. We decided to hit another spot on the lake where the water was a lot calmer and ended up having a lot of luck. We caught around 20 bass in 5-10ft of water using a watermelon seed yum dinger and a 1/16oz bullethead weight. These were the two biggest of the day. Not sure of the weight but the last one was probably close to if not over 10lbs. Im 6'8 230 if it gives yall any reference. We worked the yum dingers slow bouncing them off the bottom and letting them sit then jigging them back up, not sure if the bass were bedding down there or not but they were all over them.

Very nice. Good to see there are still fish in those lakes. Used to fish them as a youngster (back when you could see the bottom). Looks like Lk Virginia ?

Hopefully you let those females go.

yes it was on lake virginia right by Rollins, and all of the bass we caught were let go!

Heck of a job. Do you know if they are still stocking Sunshine Bass in those Lakes? Use to have a blast fighting those fish.

Usually only saw them during cooler times of the year. They would churn up the water right out where you were fishing, straight out from the ramp. May have stopped stocking them. Boy they would hit like a freight train.

I'm going to Rollins next year glad to hear there is some good fishing there.I will definitely be taking advantage of it. Good fish.
