After yesterday, we made plans for another wading trip with my buddy. We head down the bank about 4:30pm and begin to fish. A half hour passes with a big fish hooked up but pulls off. We work down and then I'm slammed and it is peeling drag for 20 seconds. Big snook! It's a standstill for another 15 secs. I get its head turned and coming towards me. Tired and on top of the water, only a few yards away from me. I've practically got it... Then the hook pulls out, heart breaker! The fish was well over 30 inches, possibly over slot. Continuing down we get some jacks and ladyfishB Then I'm slammed for a 2nd time! Drag screaming off the reel. Barely get a look at it, not as big this time, but still a respectable snook. Finally wrangle it in and lip it! As soon as I do so, my CAL falls out of his mouth. 27.5 inches long, pictures took and fish released. Then we get a trout, only a redfish away from a combined slam. My buddy has somewhere to go so he decides to start walking towards the bank, but while doing so picks up a 22 inch snook. We do all we can to get another fish, but every time we hook up its jacks or ladyfish! The big ones are moving in!
*DOA CAL was the lure, Greenie was the color!
