Naples itself can be very rough and dangerous.....Pompeii was spectacular and awe inspiring

Go north or south of Napoli for the better parts of Italy

A traditional Italian curse, similar to "go to hell" , is " va fa Napoli " which is go to Naples

I've been to Roatan. It was pretty, and poor and I didn't catch anything in the short time I was there. But I heard the snorkeling was phenomenal.

We were there on a cruise last year and can't wait to go back for a week. Your right about it being a poor country but the people we interacted with were very friendly and happy.

I was on a cruise that stopped in Roatan. We snorkeled, and it was phenomenal. The elkhorn coral was exposed in the (small) wave troughs, so we had to "weave" our way though them. We also swam through a school of squid. It was a very unspoiled looking reef. The best snorkeling I have ever done, by far.

After the snokeling, we went for a walk though town, and the people were poor, yet very pleasent. I didn't feel unsafe at any time at all.

i want to fish the Galapagos Islands.

I was able to do that and it was a fantastic trip. I was presented the opportunity to run a 35 Bertram out of their for 2 months. I just couldn't do because of too many other commitments. My buddy did it instead and I think I will always be a little jealous that he got that experience.
