How many coats of epoxy do you guys do on a light inshore saltwater rod? I did 2. Also do you guys scuff the first coat before applying another?

For this application, I use Flex Coat Lite and I apply 2 coats. I only scuff the first coat if it has been more than 48 hours since applied.

I usually just do 2 coats of light build. I apply my second coat roughly 12 hours after the 1st coat.

Here is a tip I saw from another builder. Always leave a thin coat of epoxy in the mixing cup next to the rod while it cures. When checking the epoxy, touch the one in the cup. This way, if it is still tacky, you won't leave a fingerprint mark on your rod.
