you can be enthusiastic about fishing without coming across like you invented it.
Yep, me admitting I didnt even catch a fish and am now "Net boy" as a result, comes across like I invented it. Ya got me!
This thread is old now, lets let it run its course please. No reason to bring it to the top again.

I agree
Love the Sheep photos. Love the sheep sandwiches. Unfortunately, I haven't got real good at catching them yet. So, the slip sinker goes right above the hook? What kind of knot are you using to keep the line low on the hook so it doesn't chafe and break? Why no swivel? Why no bead?
Well, Im no expert, but glad to try and help. The main line is attached directly to the hook with a snell knot, the eye of that kind of hook protects the knot from the sinker. We have noticed when fishing fiddlers on structure, a leader doesnt get you any more bites than not having one, so we diss the leader to save time and afford better abrasion resistance. Tourney time.... sure Ill take the extra time to start with a flouro leader, where I use a uni splice so the sinker can slide over it. Fishing a knocker rig presents the bait to the fish, and has a similar feel as using a jig. That gamagatsu is a great hook, change hooks every trip to ensure its sharp as possible.
edit: Oh yea, I actually believe adding a bead gets less bites. Just my humble opinion though.

Thanks for the explanation. I will try that. I had assumed that the sinker being that close to the bait inhibited the bite, but I guess Sheepshead are a bit like the honey-badger....it just
don't give a hoot. LOL.
