    6/27 IRL Report

It's been awhile since I've published a report, but let me assure you that the fishing has been great! The trout bite continues to be excellent as well as the snook bite. It's almost the end of June and the flounder have made yet another run!*

We are catching some big gator trout on the flats this time of year. They are gobbling up any swim bait you can throw at them. Work the mangroves for flounder and snook. Make sure you are able to skip your artificial into the shaded area underneath the mangrove branches. I pretty much fish any mangrove line that I can, no matter the depth. Yesterday, I caught a nice snook by skipping a DOA shrimp under a mangrove in 8 inches of water. The snook came out of the water for the bait. Reds and flounder will also sit very shallow like that.*

The weather hasn't been ideal, but we've been catching suprising numbers of fish even in really bad wind and even rain. Just get out on the water and have some fun!
