I fished with my freind Capt. Terry Lamielle today in Fellesmere, and had a damn good time. Conditions were amazing, and not having much experience bass fishing I'd have to say that it was as much fun as I've ever had on freshwater. We started the day fishing a submerged ditch with fly rods, and after missing a nice fish and seeing very little action, we switched to spinners and began hitting the eel grass. Had a great day, landing several very chunky bass with the fish in the pic being the biggest of the day. (7.5 on the boga).

Nice... In my opinion, I have more fun catching them on the fly...
That's a given, but I didn't have much choice. All I had with me were XXL baitfish profiles and I needed something weighted that could punch through the eel grass. It was my first time out there and I honestly had no idea what kind of habitat we would be fishing until I got there. I was unprepared this time, but you better believe I'll be back with a box full of nasties.
and to think the farmers almanac said it was going to be a bad day !! lol
I'd miss out on alot of opportunities if I paid any attention to stuff like that. I fish almost every day, and it's very rare for me to go home skunked. All it takes is one fish to make a day memorable, and today was memorable.
