I kind of figured is was something other than a catfish. I'm 99% sure it was a cobia now. If the water is "cold", how warm is it supposed to be for these guys to be around? I'm not a firm believer that fish are always restricted to water temp. I've caught (multiple) albacore 4 miles off the beach in green 56 degree water in Oregon when they are supposed to be 20 miles out in 60 degree blue water. I've seen turtles and great whites in the Gulf of Alaska.

I didn't get very close, but the anal fin ray probably smelled like bird crap. Everything out around those rocks smells like bird crap.

How much would a 33" fish weigh? This guy was pushing 20lbs.
