Sawpit creek ramp closed! How can we fish Nassau sound?

Man, yesterday I wanted my first gator bad. We went with a big day planned, and showed up at sawpit creek ramp at about 6:45am. To our distress, the ramp is completely closed! I dont know the north very well, and didnt know the next closest boat ramp. I forget the name of the one we went to, but its the one close to St.Marys sound, waaaaaay out of our way. We had to completely change our plan, and fish all new water. I ended up running the Hewes on the beach all the way from St.Marys to Nassau sound, to fish our spots in the afternoon. Had quite an adventure, but dang! We stopped at Bret's, which was much closer than the ramp that we put in, but still pretty far away.
So what is the next closest ramp to Nassau sound besides Sawpit?

Sisters Creek is the next closest one I know of south of Sawpit.

Tony, did it look like the ramp was closed for good or just not open that early?

Sea Squatch...I'm pretty sure the campground ramp is only for registered campers. I think the Kayak place will let you launch for a few bucks but probably limited on size...not even sure they allow motors. I launched today into Simpsons next to the kayak place, but it's a bear retrieving even a little boat at low tide.

For a fast boat, I doubt you'd lose much time launching at Sisters Ramp and heading up the ICW to Nassau Sound, if you consider the driving time saved. (assuming you're coming from Jax)

The Sound is 6miles from the tip of the Jetties. If its calm, I just put in at Mayport and run the beach. Its quicker than dealing with the Ferry both ways.

Sea Anchor...on rough days, there's a good shortcut...cross at Mayport and cut through Shad creek, to Deep Creek, to the ICW. (just not on very low tides)

Cedar Point ramp. Right across from Ft. George inlet. Or sisters creek.

A couple of weeks ago, Fernandina paper had an article that stated the Talbot Island (Sawpit Creek) boat ramp will be closed Mon. 12/12/11 through 1/9/12 for shoreline stabilization.
