    Boat Trailer Dealer?

My current boat trailer died last time out. It lost a hub and damaged the spindle. I was going to replace the axle until I noticed the bottom of the frame over the rear leaf springs is rotted, i guess 16 years is old enough. So now I am searching for a replacement, who is the best dealer in SWFL? My current trailer is a galvanized one, is aluminum far superior? Anything first time buyer should avoid? My current trailer came with the boat so its all I know.

There's a trailer dealer in Cape Coral that sells good Aluminum trailers and seemed like a good guy when I spoke with him on the phone. Prices were good too.
Don't buy another galvanized trailer if you plan to keep it another 16 years.

I google'd it... Island Coast Trailers... they sell Continental trailers. 239-458-9442
Tarpon... everything else is just bait.

Own a 2004 16' Carolina Skiff that had the same problem. The galvanized trailer pretty much rusted out from under it. Shopped around and bought from The Boat House in Port Charlotte. Think they have a location in the Cape. Decent deal and since they sell Carolina Skiffs knew it was going to fit and load properly. Picture is from when I made the switch over myself a few months back. Sold the old trailer for parts.New Trailer 2017.jpg

FWIW, my Continental trailer is 17 years old and still going strong. Did have to replace the leaf springs twice over that time, but the trailer itself is solid as can be.
