Launched out of Matlacha the other day to scout out some new areas and check in at a few spots. My hope was to see if the big snook were there yet, and wasn't disappointed. They were all over the place , but wouldn't even think about touching a lure. I was throwing a topwater and when it came up next to my Pro Angler a big trout came out of the water on it, but threw it. I dropped it right back and he nailed it again. I had him this time! After a nice little fight I brought it up and lipped him. It measured out at 25" which is definitely my biggest trout in Matlacha to date. The wind seemed to be kicking up worse and the tide was getting even lower so I caught a couple more trout and decided to call it a day.
