    August Redfish...

August has been a pretty nice month so far. My boat was down for a bit but I have been able to run a few trips as of late. Ive been getting out with family, church brethren, and friends. The pot holes are holding fish at the bottom of the tide and the oyster bars and bushes have been good on the high water. Here are some pics from the last few weeks....

    This fish went 30 inches....

And this drum went close to 30 as well.......

Here is my buddy Redfish57 with a good fish....

Here is another fish caught on a cut pinfish that went at the end of the slot.....

Here are some fish from a trip with my church brothers Tom and Blane.....

This one went close to 29.5 inches and was released......the boy reeled it up and dad landed it.....

The dude went just over 31 inches....again, caught on a cut pinfish under a cork......

And this pic below....my cousin W and I were wading and picked up these nice fish.....right at the end of the slot.....

The fishing looks like it will be just fine out there and the bait is looking like it is getting better. The shiners are almost full grown now. The reds are eating both of em and pinfish are nothing to sneeze at, they get it done as well. I thank the LORD for HIS blessings of fish caught and great fellowship on the water. Safe passage as well.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen

Love the report Gator! I have been having some good luck on the redfish bite this month also. Exactly as you say, potholes at low and oyster bars and bushes at the high tide.

Leopard, my boat is down again or Id take ya. I know we have talked about it....not sure when Im gonna get her back. Just had the carbs cleaned out and after 3 trips she dropped a cylinder and so forth. I think I might need to just dip into my savings and do a new motor....Im not going to miss September and October.....

Skinny, they are out there, not in droves just yet but on the right tides they can be had. Hit your spots that you love this time of year and fish with patience and they shall come.....

Luna, I have been out with kids more the last few months and as long as they are willing to do a few things my way it seems to work. I know you cannot fuss. Kids are going to make noise, reel when the drag is being pulled, etc. I try to coach them without much criticism and just reinforce the positives and go from there.....praise the LORD they have been able to catch some really quality fish. Amen.
