7.28.13 * Delray to Boynton Drift

Keeping an eye peeled out for storms, Damon (chefdta), John, Sheridan (Hooked), and I headed out of Delray to calm seas and clear skies. The current was low, somewhere between 1.5-2 kts so we started jigging on 180'. Everyone was getting on fish today and the AJ bite was intense. Later we hit 300' and then we got into the Tunas across from the Martini glass. We approached Boynton inlet as soon as a small twister touched down.

Thanks to Sheridan for helping me with the reef donkeys.

Well.. not so much when you have a tuna laying next to them.

Yes, Kanpachi (in japan) is actually a treat! My Japanese buddy got excited when I told him I had caught a few almaco jack, so excited that he came over and enjoyed some with us. I was shocked by how tasty and sweet the Almie was as sashimi. Just a little ponzu sauce was all we needed. The fillets however, are nice and firm and hold up very, very well on the grill. Fresh garlic and lime...oh man!
