Gator Trout and a Suprise Guest 2/1-2/2

I did a little predawn snooking then met Tyler and David for some trout fishing. The days tally was 2 snook, both over 30" and 4 trout over 25" with another 18 over 22". also sheephead and flounder- all on z man or doa. tyler and dave scored a nice 2 man limit of fish too using shrimp.

Jeremy came down for a day of fishing for some gators and maybe reds. after a very late start(wont say why or who was late)we arrive to have the area all to ourselves- a rarity. i hook up with something fighting unlike anything i ever hooked before-then i see why. its no fish but a little sea turtle. a few quick pics and a unhook and back he goes. then we both proceded to tear into trout between 21"-25" for about 2 hrs. i lost a fish that might have been the biggest trout i ever had. it was a monster. hook just pulled. to add insult to injury i lost another huge one a few cast later to the same thing-hook pulling. drag was set correctly so i dont know why they pulled off. we had a nice dbl header of gators and jeremy got some good fish. zero reds in the area. i wasnt in the mood for pictures much after losing the monster trout. all fish caught on DOA Cal or 3" shrimp
