Seeing Red
Hit the water this morning with my neighbor at 0700. We put in at Oak Harbour and snagged a ton of pinky sized finger mullet and headed towards clean water. The tides were ripping and water was dookie brown so scouted around looking for some bait pods and caught some Jacks and bluefish. I was determined to catch a ladyfish to use as cut bait since the water was so dirty. I figured maybe the smell would do me some good. It just so happened to be the ticket for us today. We pretty much fished the dry docks in hopes of a flounder or two but the water was ripping and we only caught one so we headed toward White Shell. We almost immediately started catching reds about 20 yards off the rocks and it was very consistent on the last of the outgoing tide. Once the tide started to go slack, the bite died off. The water is dirty but there is a lot of bait on the surface.

It was an absolute beautiful day. Capt Sipler and us were the only ones in eye sight of that area fishing. I was expecting tons of vessels on the water.
