I spent all of last week doing some work on Sanibel at the Ding Darling Refuge and spent my evenings fishing the wildlife drive and several other spots around the island and did really well. My weeks total was 6 trout and 2 nice snook and my friend Wes caught 4 trout, 1 redfish, and a couple snook. ALL the fish were caught using DOA shrimp of varying colors.

I didn't know you where aloud to fish from there little dock??? Love the place congrats on the catch!
The fishing is great there but if you've ever fished the refuge wildlife drive you'll know why I'm dressed like a bank robber....the no-see-ums are TERRIBLE!!!!!Quote:

You can fish from most of the observation platforms on the wildlife drive unless otherwise posted. The problem is that most of the time the observation decks, docks and platforms are covered with birdwatchers and its just best to not deal with the drama from the birders.
