Hey guys, I've used Gary @3 Bros., Bob's mobile dockside service and Jack at Quartershot Racing. All do a great job, and I have no complaints, top notch guys.

But I need a new (MOBILE!) fiberglass guy that is capable of high-end work such as flush mounted transducers. (The guy I have used for years for high end mobile work has closed his doors) It has to be someone with experience in this area, I don't want to be someones experiment. (references a must) They have to carry 1 million in liability to work in the marinas with me. They also have to be capable of working in tight, hard to access places and not whine about it or stand me up.

Any suggestions? Who did your flush mount if you have one? You will be doing them a favor by recommending them, I will have a lot of work for them, with work waiting right now!

re: Boattronics

Wow, I can't believe I don't have one suggestion yet. Funny, I've been calling the other top electronics companies for three days, and left messages two days in a row now, and haven't had my calls returned. It seems for some reason they don't want to call me back.Tooth

Well, I've got a few names from the marinas, I'll be checking out their references over the next couple days.

Is there no one else in all of N.Florida that can do these high end flush mount 'ducer installs like the ones on my website? I can do it if I have to, but I'd rather stick to what I'm most efficient at, and find a dedicated expert to take care of the glassing. Work is waiting on you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe this is going to be tougher than I thought. I thought the other companies would have a guy, but maybe not. The only other company I've ever seen that does these high end installs is in St.Augustine on Riberia St., but they are not mobile. Please let me know any leads you may have!

re: Boattronics

Maybe your problem is that the deed you ask for SHOULD be scheduled in advance and done in house by a Qualified Fiberglass Tech who has the facility and the tools to handle such an important installation. Understand that your lack of scheduling does not constitute an emergency on our part and your opinions of the scope of the job, how long it should take us and how much you think we should charge you for the job makes little difference to the customers currently in our shop that that want their work done also. Since you mentioned all of our names just want to let you know that I'm going to make it a priorty to talk to Jack and Bob and see if they would join me in the Jenny Craig program. Maybe if we were not such fat asses we could perform those near impossible tasks you ask for so you spend more time fishing unstressed.

Tony, You can call Aaron @ Excel Professional Detailing & Fiberglass Inc (904-716-2803)  I don't know the scope of his work, but I am pretty sure he has a mobile unit?

Eek Scratch

I didn't call you a fat *** Gary.Tooth  In fact, I gave you a compliment. You would probably be my first choice for this type of work, as you may be the best at it. We all know your the man! But as stated, I need a MOBILE guy. (you won't leave your shop!?) I have a large yacht sitting in the water right now that could never come to your shop no matter how far ahead I scheduled it. And the place the work must be performed on this yacht is a very tight place that another mobile guy said he couldn't (or rather didn't want to) do. Hence my request for a guy that can do work in tight spots. I love you guys mentioned and hope your joking and didn't really take offense.Smooch

Gary I really hope your not mad about Tony's search for a mobile glass man...your one of, if not the best in the biz,but I dont care how far in advance you schedule, there's no way your getting every boat that Tony works on to your shop.

re: jhn7788

Thanks, I'll check him out.

I found a guy that has been building entire boats his whole life, nothing is to advanced for him. And he is MOBILE! Many people don't understand how complex it is to do one of these huge flush mounted thru hulls. A mold/plug is created over the ducer, then a hole big enough for the plug is cut, and the plug is glassed in. Then the ducer goes into the plug, and creates a perfectly flush install, and the ducer can actually be removed if necessary. Not like how others like contender do it, were they just make a hole just big enough for the ducer and fill it in with resin, this way it can never be removed short of being cut out.

It's the ultimate ducer install until they make 2kw tilted elements. Check out my website if anyone is curious about this "super ducer" install, there are many pics of several installs.

Thanks for the leads guys, I think I'm good at this point. I think I've been IM'd and emailed every glass man in N.Florida, thanks!
