Anglers for a Cure,Inc.

Time has flown and Anglers for a Cure, Inc. is proud to announce that June 19th,  2010 will mark our 5th annual event! With over $50,000 raised so far, we are grateful for all that’s been accomplished and know couldn’t have done it without the community’s support.  Anglers for a Cure, Inc. hopes that this year will be our biggest and best yet! This year, we are excited to present another terrific inshore slam fishing tournament, along with top-notch entertainment and our signature hospitality. Our goals are to increase awareness about, and help fund research for, the deadly but preventable disease of colorectal cancer. We strive to bring our supporters together in the spirit of friendly competition for a great cause. We especially want to make this, our fifth anniversary tournament, our biggest success to date.

Anglers for a Cure, Inc. would like to encourage you to take a moment and think about cancer in general and how many lives it affects each and every day. Every one of us knows and loves someone who has faced cancer; maybe you’ve even personally experienced this difficult journey. When we raise awareness about, and raise money for, one type of cancer, we inevitably contribute in the fight against all cancers, benefiting not only our local community, but reaching far beyond.

If you’re wondering how you can become involved in this important effort, several opportunities are available: through volunteering, registering to fish in the tournament, committing to a sponsorship role, donating in-kind goods or services, or making a direct financial contribution, we welcome your participation and support. Whether you represent a large corporation, a small business, a family or an individual, YOU can make a huge difference with your contribution. As we roll up our sleeves and prepare for this year’s event, we will soon begin volunteer scheduling and competitor registration; we accept financial contributions year-round, and are now accepting sponsors at all levels. We hope you will thoughtfully consider how you can join the fight against colon cancer today. In celebration of our 5th annual event, we would also be very grateful if you would please share this letter with 5 friends or business owners you know, to help us reach out to as many caring individuals and companies as possible.

Finally, if you are 50 or over, or think you may be at risk for colorectal cancer, please talk with your doctor and make a plan for getting screened. Do it for yourself and for all those who love you and care about you. You won’t regret it!
