Please don't try to interject with reason, it only further confuses the matter.

Anyone ever fill their rod holder, conveniently located 1.5 inches from the fuel fill, with, say, 55 gallons of gas? Well I have!

I was at the Beach BV ramp with the wife, the first time I had taken her out on the boat. I was in my standard tran truck so I asked her to drive the boat off the trailor. she was afraid to do it. So I was pissed, because I have a pet peeve about folks wasting time on the ramp. I had already wated for a family of at least 8 to back their deck boat on to the ramp, then unload 3 car loads of stuff into the boat. Then the guy that took the boat of the trailor was the only one that could drive their truck. Back to me being pissed, I got the wife to start the motor and she was not giving it enough gas. she finaly got it started and eased the boat into reverse. Not enough power to pull it off. I finaly got pissed then climbed up onto the boat. I jambed it into reverse full throttle and washed a wall of watter over the transume that damned near swamped the boat. I turned on the bilge and started emptying the boat. Well when I tied off the bow line I walked back tied off the stern. When I jumped out of the boat to go move the truck I hit where water had been pumping from my bilge. Well I hit the slick spot and slid off the floating dock into the water. When I climbed out I got back into the boat pulled it up on the trailor and went home. Took almost a year before the wife was permitted back on the boat.
After all it had to all be her fault, because I am the man.

How about waking up at O'dark thirty, loading up the boat, driving all the way to the public ramp, only to realize that the keys to the boat are hanging back in the house?

OK...I just remembered one.. it isnt a boat thing but it is a boat ramp story.
OK. So I go out fishing, nice day in summer about 3 years ago. Outgoing tide all morning and caught alot of fish. Came in at dead low tide to Arlington Marina ramp. Usual, tie boat to dock, go get truck, back truck down ramp. Drive boat up trailer. Lots of people at ramp launching boats and such. Bunch of idiots!! Im watching 2-3 people to a boat taking alot longer then me to load and launch boats. I drive my boat up on trailer, im sure with a smug grin, thinking, you all suck. Im much better and cooler at loading and launching...HAHAHA..
Boat is now on trailer. All is well. What a beautiful performance showing all these weekend yahoos how its done!! YEAAAHH!!
So, I get over the trolling motor and step down on the tongue of the trailer. All good...I am a pro!!!!
Step down onto the boat ramp. Take about 2 steps and WHAAM!! What the hell!!! I am now laying on the boat ramp covered in slime and rolling around in the water like a pig in grease!!! I stand up, WHAMM!!! **** IT!!! Im back in the water again!!! This sucks!!!
People laughing...of course!
Finally I make it to the back of the truck and hold onto it for dear life and see all the algae on the ramp. Take a few deep breaths...collect my dignity, if I had any left, and proceed to the door of truck.
I NEVER MADE IT TO THE **** DOOR..It just wasnt meant to be.........WHAMMM!! Im down again and now I am rolling and sliding further down the ramp and back into the **** WATER!!!!!!!
Please some one just shoot me!!!!
Finally, I got my big o slimmy wet self to the truck and then pulled the boat and trailer to safer grounds..
What a shame....I was doing so well showing all the weekend yahoos how us fisherman are so good a loading a boat.
I let us down...sorry LOL

Forgot the keys last summer. Friend backed me into the water and was wondering why I wasn't firing up the yamaha. Took it as a sign and just pulled the boat back to the house.
