Billy's new boats maiden voyage 4/15

Headed over with Billy and our friend Ted to put Billy's new boat (to him) in the water for the first time. He picked up a Sea Hunt 19' bay boat with a 2 stroke 150 Yamaha. We did have to rebuild the trim cylinders before getting it in the water, but he still got a smoking deal. We put in on the east coast since is closer to us, on Sunday over in Titusville with a wind forecast of 10-20. The wind was less than 5 for the first 2 hours and let us get up into the shallows and see how the boat would draft. The boat did plenty well enough to troll us around in about 14" of water. While we were in the shallows we threw around skitter walk, soft jerk baits, and gulp shrimp. The bite was decent and we managed about 10 trout with 5 over 20", and the biggest at 27", and 3 low slot reds. We did take 4 trout home, Billy has to come home with fish when he takes his boat out says his wife. The winds started to get up to 15 and the river was getting rough, so a perfect time to see how the boat did in some chop, and once again it didn't disappoint. Billy is very happy with his new ride and I think he will be fishing a lot more in the near future.
