Windy Wac Bay Reds 4/14/12

I have neglected Waccasassa for some time now due to some East coast cobia trips, some freshwater fishing, and tinkering with my new truck. Last weekend I got up around 5 AM to head over but the wind forecast scared me away. I called Ponce earlier this week and said I didn't care what the winds were doing, we were fishing Saturday.

As usual, windy as hell. Almost the kind of wind Magot brings to town. I think it let off around 12:30 for a few minutes then picked right back up. It made for some tough fishin but we still managed to boat some reds. We forgot the camera in the truck so only a few quick pics with the cell phone.

We caught some on topwater early in the day. Once the wind picked up too much, we started to throw some cut mullet. Largest red of the day was 29". I had a nice fat trout, lower 20's on topwater but she released herself at the boat. We also had some of the usual suspects like catfish and a small sharpnose.
