What is this?

I occasionally catch these in my cast net, mixed in with greenbacks.  I don't pick them up because they "sting".  This one is big, though.  Caught it on a lure.

    Leatherjacket. The spines on the bottom are very poisonous. I recommend picking this thing up with pliers or by the tail very carefully.

    Before I knew what one was, I grabbed one last year like you'd grab a greenback, full palm around it.  Took it off the sabiki and hooked it as bait.  Didn't catch anything on it and when i was done fishing palmed it and threw it back in the water.  

    Ignorance can be bliss sometimes.
