Little Jim Ft. Pierce 10/7/17

First, thanks to palmbeachpete for his recent post about Little Jims in Ft. Pierce. I have a boat but love kayak fishing and lately I’ve been exploring some spots in the Ft. Pierce area as I’m trying to check off some species off my list. While I couldn’t find my 1st redfish, I had a blast fishing this “new to me” area. Within 10 minutes of launching, got a little snook. Also caught some lady fish, jacks, mangrove snappers, and of course, a ton of catfish. Was able to cast net some mullet by the launching spot but never saw any big pods other than some smaller schools in certain areas. I did hear of a huge pod by the inlet. Fished the last hour of the incoming tide and onto the outgoing. Great area and will be back soon.

    Nice report.
I also watched the video recently and with offshore weather being so disappointing recently, I might make my way up there in the next few weeks.

Thank you guys! Offshore conditions are bad for sure and it doesn't seem to be getting better any time soon. If you guys know, how's the water quality up in Ft. Pierce with recent rain and discharges? Debating on heading up there this weekend or going to the Munyon islands in North Palm...

Last night my wife and I went fishing at the South Causeway bridge and the water is still dirty. However the fishing hasn't been bad. Last weekend my wife and I caught a snook, a red fish, a few jacks and a bunch of snapper. The only concern I would have going out this weekend would be the winds. As of this morning when I looked they are calling for 20-25kt winds on Saturday and I believe 15-20 on Sunday. If you make it out be safe and good luck.
