Homosassa 6/28 inshore with Saitydawg44

Had to shake the cobb webs off after the storm so I decided to head out and work the shoreline for ladyfish with Pete. The water temp was a comfy 80 degrees and stained. We worked the cut infront of the Homosassa River and picked away at ladyfish and trout all morning. The trout came near structure at the ends of the tides and the ladyfish were everywhere. I believe I limited on slot trout keeping only one for dinner. I also kept the other trash fish to feed to the hungry grouper. A chatruse mirrodine was top bait today worked slow for trout but the ladies wanted it fast. Looks like the fresh water hasn't put the trout down at all so I figure the other inshore species should be hungry and willing to bite.
This one came home

A fun day Kyle. I think today I'll try more to the north and a little deeper around some sandy potholes.

Always a pleasure to fish and learn with/from you Pete! Definitely head out deeper if you want more trout. I have this need for ladyfish lately LOL!

Are you going to tuck your tail and hide this weekend to avoid the scalloping madness? Is the water finally starting to recede out that way?

No I am going to be 25 miles out past the mob digging grouper. The water is back to normal levels in the river and gulf there is still a bit of standing water around but nothing serious.
