Nature Coast Weekend 5/26/12

Had a chance to sneak out and do some fishing over on the Nature Coast with A2OZ. Working a certain cove I hooked a ladyfish and she spit the spook in the air. oh well...I twitched the lure three more times to have this fat snook smash it. Probably the most epic topwater bite I have ever experienced. With such a wide back I was hoping she measured over 35 but was 5 inches short. Either way it was a good fight and a great way to test out the new eyecon 6'8 MXF.

Maybe a fe-male about to spawn? At 30" I guess it could still be a male but bein so fat, I'm guessin it's a female! Either way a sweet catch, espesially on a topwater! Was it an all out kill & eat it @ light speed strike or one of those toilet flushing sounding type strikes??

definitely an all out kill bite. The only reason I continued to work the lure after the ladyfish was because I knew there were some trout running around that cove. It was a very lucky topwater bite
