Not much. Caught a few the last couple weeks.
Water temps went for 66 to 46 to 52 in a week and half

I havent checked but at least there is sure to be plenty of water depth to run around in.

I bought a boat in Longwood this weekend last year. On the way back to NC, we put the boat in at Cameron Wright to run it some and fished for around an hour. Caught a couple of bluegill but no shad. Been thinking about pulling the boat back down there in maybe two weeks. Thinking of fishing Pecks Lake first day then back to St Johns for shad. Should I be fishing further upstream than Cameron Wright?

Got 25 shad today out of mullet lake ramp.
From govt cut to past mullet lake.
    Scattered but small schools.
Most came trolling, a couple casting.

What are shad? Are they good to eat?
How far south do they run? Do they make it to Lake Washington?

No they aren’t good to eat.
Make it to 520 but I don’t think much farther

I am glad to only be a bird hunter with bird dogs...being a shooter or dog handler or whatever other niche exists to separate appears to generate far too much about which to worry.

Anumber1 is correct, the roe is. I was referring to the fish itself.

What are the chances of getting one shore fishing from the mullet lake ramp and is it even fishable right now with the water levels. I'm interested in catching one just to put it on the Lifelist, but I have a hard time shore fishing freshwater when I can go fish inshore and have a better chance of catching fish.

Wife and I hooked 30+ and got 23/25 in the boat last weekend. Fished from around 1 to 4 in the afternoon. Put in at Mullet Lake and took a left. Trolled almost to the bridge. Caught most in the 3/4 mile before the bridge.

My dad and I fished east of the Jesup bridge in the river and landed 14, lost 6. Lots of small fish, did manage 1 big one.
