LWI 12/30. SLOW

Left the inlet around 8:15 in the fog. Expected lots of wind and up to 8ft seas according to weather forecast. Well, it was maybe 3ft @ 15 seconds with a light breeze.
Started soaking gogs north of the inlet. Drifted around 80ft first. No current. Moved a little and drifted 80-180ft with only a shark to show for it. Did that again, moved down to breakers, drifted 80-165. Nothing. Wind died down even more and the kite wouldn't even stay up.
Moved back to north of the inlet and finally hooked a king bump trolling deep. 6lbs. Nothing to brag about. Didn't see much and listened to the radio and only a couple sails caught and a few small kings.
A color change was around 90ft. Gradual change, everyone fished it but not much happened.
Planned to fish Sunday too but decided against it.

Current killed the bite. Water was just sitting still.

Super moon, west wind & no current, the trifecta of fugetaboutit. Under those conditions, any catch is worth bragging about.

At least you got out there & took a shot at it.

    Thanks for posting.
