Thanksgiving Day Topwater on the Myakka

Happy Thanksgiving everyone... hope you all had a great holiday with friends and family. We came back down to our place on the river and to visit with Mom and Dad... and I was able to sneak out for a couple hours yesterday morning in the kayak again... nothing beats an early morning topwater bite...

Stats:

Tide, near high and outgoing...
Wind, opposite the tide, so it made holding my boat steady a bit easier...
Solunar - not within any period
Landed snook #'s 43 through 46 for the year... goal has been 50, so I just might make it with a couple more days fishing...

Catch;

I ended up with four snook total, biggest around 26", and had about 12 or so strikes... not to bad for a strike to boat ratio on topwater. Lure of choice - Skitter Walk SSW-11 in Bone.

Sorry - no pics... hard to get the phone out of its case that I use to keep it dry... if its a quality fish, will do so, but not all the time.

Enjoy the weekend... and stay away from the malls... ha!

    topwater is some of my favorite type of fishing. Nothing like a snook "popping" as it sucks it down.
