We purchased this boat in 2009. I was looking specifically for this hull/motor combination due to its versatility, size, abilities, features, etc. Since then the boat has been used on the flats, fishing bridges, drifting the inlet, bottom fishing the reefs, trolling weedlines, and in freshwater rivers/lakes. This summer we found ourselves catching dolphin 10 miles south of the Marquesas. It’s also seen plenty of days at the sandbar. I haven’t measured exact numbers, but performance/economy seems to be in line with the performance bulletins. The boat has sipped nothing but ethanol-free Rec 90 fuel for the past 5 years or so. She fires right up every time, and has been dead-nuts reliable. The engine is flushed after every use. I perform the maintenance myself (annual spark plugs, lower unit gear oil, grease points, fuel filter, inspections, grease axle bearings, lube lug nut studs, etc.) I hadn’t changed the water pump impeller in a couple years, so that was just done along with the thermostat, pressure control valve and external anode.

There's a reason Key West has been building this boat virtually unchanged for over 20 years. This one is exceptionally clean and is ready to go. Only reason for sale is that I recently purchased a larger boat.

what is the overall length from prop to break away point on trailer?
  • K-DawgK-Dawg Posts: 148 Deckhand
The overall length in the ad is the overall length with the tongue folded and the motor down - 19' 2". It would be more with the motor tilted up.

The tongue hinge is behind the bow of the boat so when the tongue is folded, the trailer does not add any length to the package.

Right on! I've got the 1999 Dual console version of this boat.
